Treatment Options & Costs
Dr Or offers appointments and treatment options for patients, some treatment options will attract a fee, for example:
- GP Services
- Melanoma and skin cancer diagnostics and treatment
- Endoscopic services: receives referrals for surgical procedures (private patients only)
- Minor cosmetic treatments (same day appointments available, please see Services, Cosmetic Treatments tab for current legislative changes to laws governing cosmetic treatment)
No referral is necessary unless a private patient is being referred for a surgical procedure in hospital by another medical practitioner. Referrals are current for a twelve month period.
Things You Need To Know
New England Skin & Medical Clinic chooses to participate in the GAP payment fee structure. This means your visit to the doctor is a lower cost because it is an out of pocket expense. Please remember, you will not receive a rebate from Medicare.
If you participate in the SAFETYNET, please let the staff know. Our staff will not take responsibility if you neglect to advise them and your payment is processed.
We will advise you at the time of making the appointment what your fee will be, if not, please remember to ask. The fees are also listed on our Practice Information Sheet.

Fees are subject to change without notice and may be different to previously advised. We apologise for rises in fees from time to time, however, this has unfortunately become necessary due to our rising costs in overheads, insurance, consumables and staff wages.

Biopsies
Please note:
All biopsies are bulk billed
Cosmetic lesion removal is not bulk billed
We do not issue accounts for consultations or surgical procedures
Bulk Billing is at the doctor’s discretion
Payment is made at the time of consultation and can be made via cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card. We do not issue accounts for any service.
Script Requests
Repeats for scripts are issued at the doctor’s discretion. No repeats will be issued if:
The script is an authority script
It hasn’t been prescribed by your doctor previously
You have not seen the doctor for some time prior to your current repeat request
An out-of-pocket fee of $20 is charged for all scripts approved by the doctor
Please ask out staff if you require further clarification regarding our fee structure.
