Our diagnostics are bulk billed, the patient does not pay any fee for the histological investigation, however, the consultation will have a fee.
Dr Or is a highly skilled surgical Procedural GP and is qualified to treat melanoma and skin cancers which vary in size and placement. There are a range of treatment options suited to the patient’s diagnosis and Dr Or will discuss this with them so that it can be treated successfully.
Fees for the treatment of the skin cancer are discussed with Dr Or and a Cost Agreement is signed by the patient. There are two options are for payment, the patient can opt to pay the out of pocket expenses or the full fee. If you opt to pay the full fee, you will obtain a rebate from Medicare. Our fees for procedures are in accordance with the AMA rates. We do offer Afterpay.
Occasionally skin cancers are aggressive, or patients don’t present with the skin cancer until they are at a late stage of growth, and sometimes these lesions do require extensive surgery. If for any reason a skin cancer margin is not clear, and a further operation is needed, we usually bulk bill this part of the treatment for the procedure, so you don’t pay twice for complete excision.
We retail Allmedic skin cancer cream which is a doctor only product that has been developed to aid in prevention of further sun damage to skin. It is recommended that Vitamin B3 tablets are taken on a daily basis to help prevent the development of skin cancer, and these are available over the counter at most pharmacies.
